Stunning 1960's CROTON (USA) Vintage Chronograph Watch Valjoux Cal. A stunning CROTON Time Corp (USA) chronograph watch, this lovely 1960's timepiece has been professionally inspected in-house here at Localtime. It is absolutely 100% original, with no foreign parts, in excellent condition throughout and ready to proudly wear or join your collection. The 43mm [46mm counting centre, screw-in crown] case is in excellent condition. The burgundy dial and dual-purpose bezel (elapsed time and second time zone) and hands, are a feast to the eyes.

I have made many photos of the watch, including some closeup snapshots, just for fun. This lovely chronograph is fitted with one of my own premium calf leather strap in tan.

Their colour is black and they come in 4 sizes [18-20-22-24mm] and 7 colours of contrast stitching. Their length is approximately 100mm on the buckle end [including the steel buckle] and 120mm on the tail end ; so not short but not too long either. They are nicely padded, measuring 5mm thick at the lug end and they taper down to 3.50mm at the tail end. They have two keepers, one of them is fixed and the other one is floating. I have included many photos when you scroll down, so you can get a better idea of what you are ordering.

A good quality pair of spring bars is included with each strap. Here is my theory on vintage watches: as a purveyor of vintage watches, my effort is to always do only what is needed to the watch. I first inspect the watch, both visually (cosmetically) and then mechanically. If I judge that the watch is not yet in need of a full service then I do not put the watch through a service which, by the way, entails a lot of risks too.

Instead, I give it what I call my Spa treatment which will include a cleaning, changing of gaskets, oiling, lubricating and mechanical testing. If the plexi is heavily scratched or discoloured and it can not be cleaned, I change it.

If the crown is wrong or worn, I also change it. Now, if the watch is in need of a full service, then my professionally inspected description becomes professionally serviced. Important Note On Straps/Bracelets : The straps I use on my watches [leather, canvas, suede, rubber] are always brand new, unless otherwise mentioned and, in most cases, I also sell them separately in my store, in different colours and sizes. In the case of metal bracelets, if the watch is NOS, the bracelet is also unused.
