JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE DERBY - BROWN / TAN - UK 8.5 - LATHAM - GOOD CONDITION. A vintage pair of Joseph Cheaney four-eyelet plain-front derby shoes in brown / tan grained leather - perfect town-and-country footwear. They are in good used condition overall. Notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). But, then again, who wants a pair of town-and-country brogues that look as if you've just bought'em? - it'd be like wearing shiny wellies or a glossy waxed jacket. This pair have been professionally fitted with replacement leather half-soles and rubber heel pieces and are relatively little worn since then. In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaney's in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around. The style is'Latham' - a beautifully-proportioned four-eyelet derby. The width fitting is'F' - which is the'standard' width fitting. The shoes feature leather soles, weather-resistant storm welts, grained leather uppers and full leather linings.
