JOSEPH CHEANEY VINTAGE BUCKLED LOAFERS - BROWN / TAN - UK 10.5 - EXCELLENT CONDITION. A very fine (and very rare) pair of vintage buckled loafers with a kilty fringe in beautiful brown / tan calf leather from Joseph Cheaney - perfect for dressing-up or dressing-down.

I think this pair may have been made for retail by Alan McAfee of London (who were part of the Church's group along with Joseph Cheaney at one time) judging from the information written inside the shoes. They are in excellent used condition overall - notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). This is a very rare design to see - so, you will be very unlikely to ever meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you - always a nice feeling, I think.

In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaneys in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around. Width fitting is'F' - which is the'standard' width fitting. The shoes feature calf leather uppers, leather soles, brass-coloured buckles and full leather linings. Relaxed, elegant style from one of England's finest shoe makers.
